3 car theft suspects killed in shootout with QC police
Three car theft suspects were shot dead by Quezon City policemen in Barangay Payatas after they were flagged down in a checkpoint operation early Friday morning.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel said one suspect had a tattoo that read “Philip Carpio, Cordova Katipunero.”
Flagged down
Based on the QCPD report, the suspects were on two motorcycles around 12:30 a.m. on Friday when they were flagged down by anticar theft policemen who were conducting Oplan Sita at Group 5 corner Payatas Road, Barangay Payatas.
Police said the suspects sped off instead of stopping, prompting the operatives to give chase and eventually corner the suspects.
