Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) is planning to ask its workers to re-apply before becoming regular employees, said Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III.

Kaya lang, hindi sila nakakuha ng TRO kaya dapat iimplement pa rin […] yung order namin,” Bello said in an interview with dzIQ Radyo Inquirer on Wednesday.

“Ang sinabi namin, lahat ng mga nagtatrabaho diyan, 7,000 of them, are supposed to be regular employees. Hindi na nila kailangang mag-apply,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Labor secretary said that they were studying the possibility of garnishing money from PLDT to pay the workers.
