3 arrested in QC anti-drug operation
Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Special Drug Enforcement Unit seized five grams of shabu from three suspects in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Bartolome Tuesday night.
Suspects Maricel Lauryo, Mildred Jimena, and Ronnie Fernando were arrested inside Goodwill Homes along Katipunan Avenue, according to a QCPD report.
Authorities said the shabu placed in seven sachets had an estimated street value of P34,000.
Aside from the drugs, police also recovered the P1,000 bill used as marked money and confiscated a .22-caliber revolver with live rounds, a strip of aluminum foil, a glass pipe, a digital weighing scale, a sling bag and two lighters.
Four other P1,000 bills were also found at the scene.
The QCPD said the suspects would be charged for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. With a report from Kristine Macasiray/INQUIRER.net Intern /cbb
