Cops kill ex-village chief after shooting in Isabela bar

ALICIA, ISABELA – A former village chairman of Barangay (village) Victoria in this town in Isabela province was shot dead on Tuesday night (July 10) in a shootout with the police who gave chase after he allegedly shot a man at a bar, police said on Wednesday (July 11).

Antonio Benitez fled after shooting Romeo Pasion, 66, following an argument, and was killed when he attacked the policemen who cornered him, according to Senior Insp. Frances Littaua, Isabela police spokesperson.


Pasion is being treated in a hospital. VILLAMOR VISAYA JR.
