Death toll in Lake Buhi boat sinking rises to 5

NAGA CITY — A team of rescuers recovered the bodies of two boys on Tuesday, two days after they went missing when their boat sank in Lake Buhi in Buhi town, Camarines Sur province, police said.

SPO2 Emma Buen, chief investigator of the Buhi police, said the bodies of Joshua Bejerano, 12, and Jonas Menorca, 6, were found in Barangay Ipil, about 8 kilometers away from the village of San Buena where their boat capsized.

Their recovery brought to five the total number of fatalities in the accident. Buen said seven boat passengers were rescued on Sunday. —Stephanie Florida
