Typhoon Gardo (international name: Maria) has slightly weakened Monday afternoon, the state weather agency said.
Gardo blew winds of 185 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of 225 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The typhoon was last spotted 1,020 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes. If it continues its track of west northwest at 30 kph, it will exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Wednesday morning.
The southwest monsoon continues to affect Luzon and Visayas.
Metro Manila, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Bicol region, Western Visayas and the provinces of Bataan and Zambales will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. /vvp
