Mahal na Poon ng Krus sa Wawa

Culmination of this year’s Feast of the Venerated Cross, which features a pagoda flanked by white angels in a fluvial parade joined by some 250 devotees.

The Holy Cross, which was found floating along the Wawa section of Bocaue River centuries ago, is carried by the rivercraft.

FEATURED STORIES

The festival is also a commemoration of the Pagoda Festival tragedy on July 2, 1993, when almost 300 devotees drowned when the vessel capsized due to overloading.

Magalleones Festival

Residents of Magallanes town in Sorsogon province pay homage to their patroness, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, with this year’s theme: “Under the guidance of our Lady: United and Committed to Face Challenges and Achieve Progress.”

Among the festivities are a street dance presentation, theatrical program, mural painting contest, arch making contest and a fluvial procession.

T’nalak Festival

South Cotabato province, known as the “Land of the Dreamweavers,” celebrates its distinct culture and vibrant people in Koronadal City.

From its name, the festival features T’nalak, an intricately woven textile of different patterns and colors.

Activities include a trade expo, charity ball, skills competition, LGBT night and grand parade.
