Drugs seized in police ops not being ‘recycled’ — Albayalde
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Oscar Albayalde on Friday assured that illegal drugs confiscated in police operations have been properly inventoried and are not being “recycled” by the PNP Crime Laboratory.
Albayalde said this as millions-worth of drugs were seized in consecutive police operations in line with the government’s anti-narcotics war.
“Of course may ginagawa namang inventory d’yan, and of course kapag ‘yan hiningi ng korte, they should be able to present it,” Albayalde said when asked in a press conference if drugs seized from drug suspects are being recycled by the police.
(Of course we have an inventory, and of course if the court asks for it [confiscated drugs] t, they should be able to present it.)
“Kung ilang gramo ‘yan, kasi ini-weigh ‘yan, kung ilang gramo ‘yan, ‘yun din ang dapat i-present sa korte, he added.
Albayalde meanwhile warned cops who would “recycle” drugs for their personal gain that they would get severe sanctions as he also expressed his trust in the PNP Crime Laboratory.
