Four cops in strip search video sacked — PNP chief

The Philippine National Police (PNP) sacked the four police officers involved in the strip search of drug suspects, including women, in Makati City Thursday.

The erring cops were identified as Police Senior Inspector Valmark Funelas, PO1 Stephanie Limhap, PO1 Heizelle Maramag, and PO1 Francis Intia.

The video, which showed the policemen forcing drug suspects to go naked and laughing at the view, surfaced on Wednesday.

“That should not have happened,” PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde told reporters, adding that somebody should be held liable for the incident.”

“We will make sure that the full force of the law will be meted against these erring personnel if found guilty after a swift investigation that is now being conducted by NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office),” he said. /ee
