A high-value target and a government employee were among the four suspects arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XI and the Talomo Police Station’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in buy-bust operations in Davao City.
In a statement on Wednesday, PDEA said four medium packs and one small pack of 23 grams of shabu costing P345,000 were seized from Zosimo “Muki” Capesos Jr., 41 years old of Kadayawan Homes, NHA Bangkal on Monday.
Capesos, who was apprehended along Samat Street, Central Park Subdivision in Bangkal, is considered as a high value target by PDEA.
Aside from the illegal substance and other drug paraphernalia, a caliber .45 pistol with live ammunition, a Yamaha scooter, and the buy-bust money were also recovered from him.
In a different operation on the same day, operatives confiscated six sachets of shabu weighing two grams and worth P30,000 from Jayson Jocoy Bendoy, 35, and a resident of Cabantian, and Razil Gabia Manlapaz, 29, who hails from NHA Bangkal.
Bendoy, who is a member of the city’s Civil Security Unit, was arrested with Manlapaz in a hotel along Cabaguio Avenue in Agdao.
Later, operatives arrested a certain Gemairh Sultan along Mt. Mayon Street at Barangay Malvar after he was caught with at least one gram of shabu placed in two sachets, amounting to P15,000.
Authorities also recovered a .38 revolver and the buy-bust money from Sultan, 32 years old and a resident of Bangkerohan.
All four suspects will be charged for violation of Sections 5, 11, and 12 of Article II of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Capesos and Sultan will be charged with an additional case, for violating R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act. /vvp
