Man killed in shootout
An unidentified man was killed when two groups figured in a shootout in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, before noon yesterday.
The fatality believed to be in his 30s suffered a gunshot wound in the nape. He wore a bonnet, a black jacket and a blue T-shirt.
Police said the victim was earlier seen on board a motorcycle driven by another man. Two other companions who riding another motorcycle.
When the two motorcycles reached sitio Gun Club, the riders got off and fired shots at bystanders talking by the roadside.
No one was hit as the bystanders were able to cover for safety.
The armed men returned to the motorcycles and drove off.
Article continues after this advertisementBut before the motorcycles could go far, one of the bystanders drew a gun and shot at the fleeing armed men.

SPO4 Alex Dacua, homicide investigator, said police are still investigating what triggered the shootout.
A .357 revolver, a cellular phone, four empty shells of .99 pistol and a bullet fragment were recovered in the crime scene. CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
