Joma using ‘reverse psychology and intimidation’ — Lorenzana
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana accused Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Ma. Sison of using reverse psychology and intimidation to save the peace talks with government.
“Mr. Sison, you know that the peace talks is the only thing that is keeping you in the limelight. Without it you are irrelevant. You also know that the President can terminate the talks, and this is why you are desperately using reverse psychology and intimidation to save it,” he said in a statement Friday.
On Thursday, Sison said they would just work on President Rodrigo Duterte’s ouster and the peace talks could just continue during the next administration.
A day later, he clarified that they are not terminating the peace talks and only its political arm – the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) – could do so.
Lorenzana dismissed Sison’s statements as “childish tantrums” in order to pursue the peace talks.
