Truck driver buried in gravel he was ferrying to Bulacan

ABUCAY, BATAAN – A truck driver was buried alive in gravel he was ferrying to Bulacan province following a Thursday morning (June 28) accident, police said.

Mark Ferdie Calulang was driving a trailer from Sea Front Corp. in Mariveles town when he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a tree at 4:30 a.m. along Barangay (village) Mabatang.

Calulang was thrown off the truck, and was buried by gravel that poured out of the truck. Calulang was dead by the time a crew from the Metro Bataan Development Authority dug him out.

The ill-fated truck is owned by South Sea Development Corp., which operates in Norzagaray town in Bulacan./lb
