LTO denies joint policy with PNP, AFP on traffic violations
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) denied on Wednesday its alleged joint policy with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on traffic violations.
In a Facebook post, the LTO Driver’s License Renewal Office–Araneta Square Mall informed motorists about an alleged “Joint AFP/PNP and LTO Advisory” that showed certain violations and corresponding fines amounting from P1,000 to P10,000 for violators of traffic rules.

However, LTO Law Enforcement Service Chief Francis Ray Almora said the Facebook post was not true.
“The post is not factual. There is no joint advisory issued as far as I know. There is no such law as Anti-Muffler Modification Act of 2016,” Almora said when sought for comment.
Department of Transportation (DOTr) communications director Goddes Libiran also told INQUIRER.net that the page is “not the official page of the LTO.”
“That’s not the official page of LTO. All official advisories are posted via the official LTO page lang or DOTr,” Libiran said via Viber message.
“It’s not even a Facebook page of LTO regional offices. Parang renewal center lang yata ‘yon,” she added.
