Hartmann Crew Philippines (HCP) celebrated the Day of the Seafarer 2018 on June 21 at its office in Malate, Manila.

In line with this year’s global theme, “Seafarers’ Well-being,” HCP held a mindful meditation workshop for seafarers

Seafarers took part in the workshop with Randolf M. Bustamante, practitioner of mindful meditation, which is a tool for managing stress.

Steve Silva, one of the participants, said he and other seafarers were taught how to relax because “usually the seafarer’s mentality was to think always about the future.”

After the workshop, Dr. Bernard E. Pangan discussed cardiovascular diseases and proper nutrition with seafarers.

Free medical checkups were provided with the help of Associated Marine Officers’ and Seamen’s Union of the Philippines.
