Police nab 402 suspected criminals in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – Policemen in Quezon province have arrested 402 suspected criminals, including 234 wanted felons, in several operations dubbed “Oplan Salikop” since May 1.

Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police chief, said operatives from different towns armed with search and arrest warrants, collared 30 suspects for violation against loose firearms; 140 for illegal drugs; 162 for illegal gambling; seven for illegal logging, 45 for illegal fishing; and
18 for illegal cutting of coconut trees from May 1 to June 17.

De Guzman also said authorities seized 31 illegal firearms of assorted calibers.

Authorities likewise confiscated 597.43 grams of shabu (crystal meth) and 8.96 grams of marijuana with a total estimated street value of more than ₱2.2 million.

The arrested suspects and wanted persons were detained in different
municipal police jails.
