Malacañang appealed for public understanding after the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) committed blunders again on its recent social media posts.
“Let he who has not erred cast the first stone. This may not be the first but come on, let’s give them slack,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a Palace briefing.
Last week, the PCOO drew flak after calling the country of Norway as “Norwegia” in a post announcing that President Rodrigo Duterte conferred the Order of Sikatuna on outgoing Norwegian Ambassador Erik Forner.

The following day, the PCOO committed another blunder in an announcement about the burial of the late National Security Adviser Jose Roilo Golez whom the agency called “Rogelio.”
Roque said he understands the frustration of the public over the PCOO’s blunders, adding that hopes the agency would boost its “spell checking” efforts.
“Ang sa akin lang, taong gobyerno lang po yan. Sana lang mas pataasin pa ang kanilang spell check dahil meron namang Word program na spell checker,” he said.
“I’m sure po that they will learn again from this experience in the same way that they have learned from the experiences from the past,” he added.
This was not the first time the PCOO became the subject of mockery and criticisms. In March, the agency also drew flak because the identification cards it released to members of the Malacañang Press Corps contained grammatical errors. /vvp
