The southwest monsoon or habagat continues to affect the western side of Luzon, the weather bureau said, adding that it was monitoring two low pressure areas (LPA) the country.
“Asahan natin ang kanlurang bahagi ng Luzon (na) \ maging maulan pa rin,” Philippine Atmospherical, Geophysical, and Astronomical Service Administration (Pagasa) Weather Specialist Shelly Ignacio said Monday.
Ignacio added that two LPAs — one inside and another outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) — had been spotted by Pagasa. One LPA is located east near Mindanao, while the other was last seen 675 kilometers west of Basco, Batanes.
The western side of Luzon, particularly the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the western provinces of Central Luzon will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rain.
The rest of Luzon will experience isolated rain showers but will generally have better weather. The sun shone over Metro Manila starting 7 a.m.
In the Visayas and Mindanao fair weather is expected.
Pagasa issued a gale warning over the northern and western seaboards of Luzon, including the coastlines of Batanes, Calayan, Babuyan, Cagayan, Ilocos, La Union, and Pangasinan, as waves might reach a height of 2.8 to 4.5 meters.
The rest of the seas will be moderate to rough. /cbb
