Drug suspect killed in shootout after selling P200-shabu to Cavite cops
SAN PEDRO CITY – A still unidentified man was killed in a shootout with police, following a buy-bust operation in Tanza, Cavite early morning Friday.
The anti-illegal drugs operation, which took place around 3 a.m. in Barangay (village) Paradahan 2, targeted suspected drug pusher identified only as alias “Charlie,” a report from the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (Calabarzon) police showed.
Police said Charlie, who came with another man, sold P200-worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) to undercover policemen.
But as the operatives enforced the arrest, the suspects allegedly fired at them in a bid to escape. A brief chase ensued until policemen cornered one of the suspects, who was subsequently hit in the body. The suspect died while being taken to Aguinaldo Hospital in Trece Martires City.
Charlie, meanwhile, managed to escape.
According to police, the suspects were also involved in a series of robbery in Tanza town. /kga
