1 killed, 14 arrested in Bulacan drug busts
CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Police killed a drug suspect who allegedly fired at them during a dawn drug bust on Wednesday (June 13) in Bocaue town.
Minandro Omania, alias “Potchi,” was killed during a police operation in Barangay Lolomboy at 2:10 a.m., said Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, chief of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office.
Police officers seized five sachets containing suspected crystal meth (or shabu) worth P10,000, a .38-caliber revolver, and the P500 used in the sting operation were recovered from the crime scene.
On Tuesday (June 12), 14 suspects were arrested at checkpoints and in nine simultaneous drug busts conducted from midnight to 11:59 p.m. in the towns of Hagonoy, Marilao, Baliwag, Pandi, and Plaridel, and the cities of San Jose del Monte and San Ildefonso.
Caught during the drug busts were Ricardo Eugenio; Amado Mateo; Ronel Dela Torre; Rudy Basense; Rommel Joven; Martin De Vera; Mercy Pajota; Bryan Castro; Barbara Santos; Romano Perez; Rodelia Libunao and Jhervee Geronimo.
The police seized a total of 34 plastic sachets of suspected shabu.
