Cavite, Laguna drug ops: Alleged ‘pusher’ killed, village councilor nabbed

SAN PEDRO CITY – An alleged illegal drug pusher was killed while a village councilor was arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Cavite and Laguna provinces, the police said on Wednesday.

In Cavite, the suspect identified only as “Chokchok,” was killed during a buy-bust operation around 9 p.m. Tuesday in Barangay Pulido, General Mariano Alvarez town.

The regional police said in a report that Chokchok suddenly drew his gun from his waist, and fired at policemen during the transaction. Police retaliated and killed the suspect instantly.

Recovered from the scene was a sachet of suspected shabu (crystal
meth) worth P400.

Dayap, Calauan around 6:30 p.m. also on Tuesday.

The police identified the suspect as Christian Malveda, a village councilor from Barangay Silangan in Calauan.

Recovered from the suspect were 16 sachets of suspected shabu, according to police.  /kga
