MANILA, Philippines — Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said on Tuesday that they have already finished distributing mobile clinics throughout Luzon.

In an ambush interview after the post-State of the Nation Address discussions in Pasay City, Herbosa told reporters that all 37 mobile clinics have been delivered to various regions in Luzon.

“Ang natitira nalang is Visayas and Mindanao, so I think the following week magdadala na kami sa Region 7,” Herbosa said.

“Minomonitor namin because we don’t want na ‘yung mga mobile clinics ay nakatengga lang sa mga kapitolyo; gusto namin pumunta talaga sila sa mga remote area at magrereport sila sa amin ng mga services,” he added.

The health chief also mentioned that 46 mobile clinics are scheduled for nationwide delivery, which he acknowledged as a challenge due to the country’s separated islands.

These health hubs would be spread out in strategic parts of the country to reach out to communities lacking healthcare establishments, Herbosa said at a press briefing in January.

“Our plan is to build 28 of these primary care facilities to cater to 28 million poor Filipinos by 2028,” he said.
