Hospitals in typhoon-hit areas on ‘code white’ – DOH
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health(DOH) on Monday afternoon said has activated “Code White” in areas affected by Typhoon Aghon (international name: Ewiniar).
DOH Assistant Secratry Albert Domingo said at the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon public briefing that this means that hospital services / systems are prepared to respond to situations related to the prevailing weather disturbance.
“Ang atin pong mga hospital doon sa mga bahagi na apektado ay code white na simula po noong May 24 pa lang. Huwag pong maalarma; ibig sabihin po, handang-handa ang ating sistema,” Domingo said.
(Our hospitals in the affected area have been on code white since May 24. Do not be alarmed, this means that our system is very ready.)
Aghon has made landfall in several parts of the country.
At least 19,373 people have been displaced by Aghon, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s tally.
