MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) said that 7,734 out of over 47,670 schools nationwide implemented Alternative Delivery Modes (ADMs) on Thursday.
ADMs include asynchronous and synchronous online modes, modular activities, and the like, which students can do without having to go to their schools.

In recent weeks, ADMs have been implemented in schools nationwide to spare students and teachers from the scorching heat index.
Most schools that implemented ADM on Thursday are in Region 6, or Western Visayas, with a total of 1,613, while the fewest came from Region 13, or Caraga, with only one school implementing ADM.
Below is the number of schools per region that have implemented ADM:
- Region 1 (Ilocos Region) – 319
- Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) – 414
- Region 3 (Central Luzon) – 1,254
- Region 4A (Mimaropa) – 268
- Region 4B (Calabarzon) – 462
- Region 5 (Bicol Region) – 1,181
- Region 6 (Western Visayas) – 1,613
- Region 7 (Central Visayas) – 407
- Region 8 (Eastern Visayas) – 136
- Region 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) – 666
- Region 10 (Northern Mindanao) – 108
- Region 11 (Davao Region) – 28
- Region 12 (Soccsksargen) – 366
- Region 13 (Caraga) – 1
- Cordillera Administrative Region – 259
- National Capital Region – 252

The DepEd added that it is looking to transition the school year back into the original June to March school year schedule.
