Typhoon Glenda pounded Central Luzon on Wednesday, killing at least one person in Plaridel town in Bulacan province when strong winds uprooted a tree and and caused it to fall on the victim’s tent beside the Cagayan Valley Road in Barangay Tabang.

Task Group ‘Yolanda’ focuses on retrieval of bodies, road clearing in Tacloban


A task group of the police, military and disaster response officials has been focusing on the retrieval of bodies from the streets as well as clearing the roads of debris, six days after “supertyphoon Yolanda” (international name Haiyan) that devastated this city.

Storm surge spawned by typhoon ‘Pablo’ hits Catanduanes

Task Force Pablo activated in Bicol Region

The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) in Bicol on Sunday activated Task Force Pablo, a disaster response group that would undertake search and rescue operation in areas in the region expected to be affected by flooding, landslides and storm surges during the expected landfall of typhoon Bopha, to be locally called “Pablo” in the Philippines.
