Where is the P6.5-billion damages incurred by the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) from its transactions with Globe Asiatique?

The Supreme Court has stopped the implementation of the Court of Appeals ruling that ordered the dropping of syndicated estafa case against one of the accused in the questionable P6-billion loan given by Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMC/PagIbig) to buyers of Globe Asiatique.

The implementation of a Court of Appeals order quashing the charges of syndicated estafa against a Globe Asiatique (GA) officer, Cristina Sagun, and recalling the arrest warrant against her has been delayed because the judge handling the case has yet to report for work.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is bent on pursuing the syndicated estafa case against realty firm Globe Asiatique (GA) owner Delfin Lee and four others, which the Court of Appeals (CA) has dismissed, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said on Tuesday.

The Court of Appeals decision dismissing the syndicated estafa case against a Globe Asiatique official in the questionable P6-billion loan of the real estate firm from Pag-IBIG Fund is not yet final, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said Tuesday.
The government will challenge in the Supreme Court the Court of Appeals’ dismissal of the syndicated estafa charge against a coaccused of fugitive Globe Asiatique president Delfin Lee, Malacañang said Monday.

The Court of Appeals ordered the Department of Justice to withdraw the syndicated estafa case and ordered the Pampanga court to recall the warrant of arrest against one of the accused in the questionable P6-billion loan given by Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMC/PagIbig) to buyers of Globe Asiatique.

Vice President Jejomar Binay on Wednesday urged Globe Asiatique (GA) developer Delfin Lee anew to face the graft charges filed against him.

The Supreme Court has denied the petition of fugitive real estate developer Delfin Lee questioning his indictment for syndicated estafa involving some P6.5 billion in allegedly anomalous loans that his company, Globe Asiatique, obtained from the government for a housing project in Pampanga province.

There’s still hope that fugitive real estate developer Delfin Lee would be arrested because he is still in the Philippines, Vice President Jejomar Binay said Monday, quoting immigration and police authorities.

Housing developer Delfin Lee has not left the country but is hesitant to surface “like Senator Panfilo Lacson” two years ago until the conditions are right for him to get justice, his lawyer said on Tuesday.

Realty firm Globe Asiatique, which allegedly obtained some P6.65-billion worth of housing loans from the government through “ghost borrowers,” on Monday insisted that the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), popularly known as Pag-Ibig Fund, had violated their agreement on “replacement buyers.”

Vice President and chair of the Housing and Development Coordinating Council Jejomar C. Binay has ordered the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), or Pag-Ibig, to notify Globe Asiatique (GA) 2 unit owners that the properties claimed by the realty firm now belong to the government.
