New Cavite cop chief named
AMID controversies, Senior Supt. Primitivo Tabujara, former regional police intelligence chief, was named the new Cavite provincial director, replacing Senior Supt. Alfred Corpus, an official confirmed Wednesday.
Cavite Gov. Ireneo ?Ayong? Maliksi protested the reshuffle and obtained a temporary restraining order which had expired, paving the way for Tabujara?s assumption into office.
Corpus, former police chief of Taguig City, served only for four months as Cavite police chief. The normal tour of duty of a provincial police chief is two years, Corpus said.
A source privy to the appointment of Tabujara said politics could be the reason for Corpus? replacement. Corpus, the sources said, was not in good terms with Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. because of Corpus? close association with Maliksi. The Revillas and Maliksi are known rivals in Cavite.
