Cafgu member jailed
LAGUNA -- A member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (Cafgu) in Calauan, Laguna is facing murder charges for allegedly killing his colleague on Saturday.
Calauan police chief Senior Insp. Anthony Gantang said Lope Lorayna, who was detained at the Calauan police station, and the victim, Roberto Labatiao, 37, had a fight but was pacified by their fellow Cafgu members.
After the fight, Labatiao went to his room in their barracks in Barangay Sto. Tomas to sleep. But the restless Lorayna barged into his room and shot him in the head using his M1 Garand. The victim died on the spot, Gantang said. Niña Catherine Calleja, Inquirer Southern Luzon
3 dead in accident
Three people died and six were injured on Saturday after a truck tumbled on the national highway in Calauan town.

5 hurt in ambush
MASBATE -- Five persons were wounded after suspected New People’s Army rebels ambushed an ambulance in Balud, Masbate, Sunday morning.

CAVITE -- Politics could be the motive for the killing of the former municipal planning and development coordinator of General Mariano Alvarez (GMA) town in Cavite on Aug. 9, investigators said on Friday.

Aurora satellite office
CLARK FREEPORT -- Separated from Central Luzon by eight hours of land travel along the foothills of the Sierra Madre ranges, Aurora will now be closer to its home region by way of a satellite office in this free port.
Called the Aurora logistics center, the satellite office will be set up on Clark’s Building 2083, one of the American barn houses preserved along Cardinal Santos Avenue here.
The Clark Development Corp. (CDC) and Aurora officials on Thursday signed a memorandum of agreement on the establishment of the satellite office.
