MANILA, Philippines?A broken heart led a 19-year-old janitor to kill himself after his girlfriend of one week broke up with him to be with his supervisor, according to a police investigator.

PO1 Hermogenes Capili of the Quezon City Police District said Gerald Taron hanged himself in a toilet undergoing renovation on the fifth floor of the Manhattan residential apartments building on Del Monte Avenue, Barangay Talayan, at around 7:10 a.m. on Tuesday.

?The victim committed suicide after he found out his girlfriend broke up with him after only one week and chose his boss over him,? Capili said.

He added that the victim?s girlfriend worked as a housemaid in the building.

Police said the victim?s body was found by building security guard Wilmar Abarro during a routine check. Nancy C. Carvajal
