MANILA, Philippines ? Search and rescue operations are ongoing for five people who went missing in San Mateo town in Rizal province after the boat they were riding on capsized on Sunday because of strong winds and floods spawned by Typhoon ?Frank.?

On Monday, rescuers retrieved the body of Cherry Cañelar, 54, one of the passengers earlier reported as missing.

The five missing passengers were identified as Jun Reblande, Vito Gulleon, Luningning Rabula, a woman identified only as Elma and a man named Tommy.

According to the provincial public information office, 12 people boarded a boat to cross the Tumana River at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

At that time, the Tumana Bridge was impassable due to floods.

Strong rains and winds, however, caused the boat to capsize.

Six of the passengers were rescued immediately by local officials, residents and members of the Navy rescue team who were near the site of the incident.

The six were identified as Charito and Charilyn Rectin, Dodong Lindio, Cirilo Guerra, Edgar Valdez and Raquel de Belen.

Meanwhile, a rescue operation is also ongoing in Antipolo City for a man who fell off a bridge in Barangay Dela Paz on Sunday.

Bernardo Cañete, 45, was reported missing after he fell off the bridge and was swept away by the strong water current.

Cañete?s companions told the police that the victim could have had a few drinks before the incident.
