Dentist, 2 pals survive gun attack in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY –– A 26-year-old dentist from San Jacinto town, Pangasinan province survived a gun attack here on Sunday afternoon, the police said.

Christine Joy de la Peña suffered gunshot wounds on her left and right shoulders.

Dela Peña and her two companions were on board a Hyundai Accent when two unidentified motorcycle-riding men attacked them using a handgun in Barangay Bonuan Boquig around 3 p.m., police said.

The assailants fled towards an unknown direction while the victim was rushed by her companions to the Region I Medical Center.

Her companions, Kingsly Yadao, who was driving the car, and Laila Lee, both from Manaoag town, were unscathed.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the shooting.
