MANILA, Philippines – Although there is no new tropical cyclone, the country will experience more rains due to the northeast monsoon, the state-run weather bureau said Thursday.
In its weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the northeast monsoon was affecting Luzon and Visayas while wind convergence was affecting Mindanao.
Northern Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers, Pagasa said.
Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
Rains will become widespread over the eastern sections of the country which could trigger flashfloods and landslides, Pagasa warned.
