3 suspected drug dealers killed in Pangasinan

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—Three  suspected drug dealers were shot and killed in Pangasinan province on Wednesday, bringing to 19 the number of casualties in the anti-illegal drugs operations in the province.

Police said two of the victims were shot by unidentified suspects while the third victim was killed after a shoot-out with policemen.

Rey Eden, a fruit vendor, was in a tricycle when he was attacked by motorcycle-riding men at about 6:45 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion Sur in Santa Barbara town.

Eden was shot in the neck and forehead.

More than an hour later, pedicab driver Joselito Najera was waiting for passengers on a street corner in Barangay Poblacion in San Fabian town when two men on a motorcycle shot and killed him.

Police said Najera was in Barangay Nibali Vidal’s drug-watch list.

In Malasiqui town, Domingo Calinaoan, a resident of Dagupan City, pulled out his hand gun when he was about to be arrested during a buy-bust operation.

Police said Calinaoan fired at the arresting policemen but missed. He was shot dead when law enforcers fired back.

Of the 19 slain drug suspects recorded by the police, 11 were killed after a shoot-out with authorities while the rest were attacked by still unidentified gunmen. TVJ/rga
