Iloilo to be placed under state of calamity

CEBU CITY, Philippines--Iloilo province is set to be declared under a state of calamity as the death toll from floods spawned by typhoon "Frank" (international code name: Fengshen) rose to 49 as of Sunday 10:30 a.m., the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council said.

At least 60 others are missing, according to the PDCC.

In an interview with the dzBB radio, Iloilo Gov. Neil Tupas expressed fear that the casualties could reach a hundred.
