MANILA, Philippines -- If called to speak, Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will attend the hearings of the soon-to-be-formed truth commission to make a clean breast of issues being linked to her.

Arroyo?s spokesperson, Elena Bautista-Horn, said the former president is willing to make use of all avenues to clear her name.

?Definitely. We don?t want to escape all forum, where we can possibly explain our side,? Horn said at the Seryes news forum.

President Benigno Aquino III said the truth commission will be formed to look into the anomalies of the Arroyo administration, including the botched national broadband network deal with the Chinese firm ZTE Corp.

In his State of the Nation Address Monday, Aquino said the truth commission will be the first executive order he will sign.

Horn said she hopes the body can be a venue for the former President to air her side, noting that allegations of anomalies are all coming out in the media.

In the same forum, Negros Occidental Representative Ignacio Arroyo said the truth commission should also look into the complaints of farmers in Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac, which is owned by the family of Aquino.

?Why are we just limiting it to the Arroyos? Let us go all the way back. Bakit kami lang, eh di lahat na (Why just us, why not (probe) everybody),? he said.

Asked why he specifically cited the Luisita issue, he said, ?this is part of his (Aquino) properties.?
