NAGA CITY — After 18 years in hiding, authorities on Saturday arrested a 59-year-old suspected member of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Matnog town in Sorsogon province, a report said Sunday, March 9.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Roel Pedro, officer-in-charge of Matnog police, said the suspect was apprehended through a joint operation led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Sorsogon Provincial Field Unit in Barangay Bariis.

The suspect, who was not identified in the report, is facing charges of rebellion according to the arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court in Irosin, also in Sorsogon, in 2006.
