MANILA, Philippines? The Commission on Elections might use ballots similar to those used in the May 10 elections for the barangay elections to be held in October this year, an election official said Wednesday.
Election Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal said the election body may revert back to manual elections to determine the next set of barangay officials. But instead of voters writing the names of the candidates, they will just shade ovals before the names of the aspirants, he added.
?The consensus of the public is that they like the shading of the ovals. So we could just shade the ballots, but they will be counted manually,? Larrazabal told reporters in Camp Crame.
?But we may also utilize the PCOS (precinct count optical scan) machines to generate the election results faster. That?s something the Comelec en banc has to study,? he added.
