MANILA, Philippines ? Senator Richard Gordon said he has never gotten Botox to hide facial wrinkles, but added that he did not take it against other presidential aspirants who have had it.
?I am what I am, what you see is what you get,? he said during a televised interview over ABS-CBN this morning.
Botox, a commercial name for botulinum toxin, is a cosmetic treatment for smoothening out facial wrinkles and treating some muscle conditions like spasms.
Gordon also likened presidential surveys to mind conditioning and warns voters not to fall for this political trick.
Drawing from his experience as a brand manager, Gordon said calling for a survey immediately after one's television ad has aired was comparable to an initial surge in sales after a product's first commercial comes out.
?After an advertisement airs, awareness of a product increases. So, if you say after a survey that this person is going to win, you are in fact conditioning the voter not to think because you're saying there is already a winner,? Gordon said in Filipino and English.
Gordon asked voters instead to make a critical choice, rather than going with the bandwagon mindset when it comes to choosing the next president.
