Pagasa issues BARMM flood alert
MANILA, Philippines — Parts of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao may experience flooding, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.
According to the flood advisory of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the following areas may experience flooding:
Maguindanao – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Nituan, Mindanao, Dalican, Allah, Buluan, Matuber, Mlang and Lower Mlang Lanao Del Sur – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Dapao and Matling. “People living near the mountain slopes and in the low lying areas of the above mentioned river systems and the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils concerned are advised to take necessary precautionary measures,” the advisory said.
In its weather forecast on Wednesday, the Pagasa observed a cloud cluster outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) which it said may develop into a weather disturbance.
It added that it may enter the PAR next week.
