MANILA, Philippines ? The last day of the 2009 Bar examinations will push through today since the weather bureau has lifted the storm signal over Metro Manila, Supreme Court spokesperson Midas Marquez said yesterday.
The high court postponed the exams scheduled last September 27 after most of Metro Manila and surrounding provinces were submerged by tropical storm ?Ondoy.? (international codename: Ketsana)
About 6,000 prospective lawyers are set to take the final exams at the De La Salle University Taft Ave., Manila campus. It will cover remedial law, legal ethics and practical exercises.
The Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) will also push through as scheduled today.
Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) commissioner Ruth Padilla said 85,377 aspiring educators nationwide are expected to take the LET. Of the number of examinees, 18,962 are set to take the LET in Metro Manila.
The original schedule for the LET was on September 27 but was deferred by the PRC due to Ondoy.
Examinees must bring and present their September 27 LET admission slip and a valid identification card to the testing centers where they have been assigned.
