MANILA, Philippines? The Licensure Examination for Teachers will push through as scheduled on Sunday (October 4) despite the continuing threat of typhoon Pepeng.
Professional Regulation Commission member Ruth Padilla told the Inquirer that 85,377 aspiring educators nationwide will have to troop to the different testing centers and take the exam. Of the number of examinees, 18,962 are slated to take it in Metro Manila.
She revealed that the PRC has not come up with an alternative date nor plans to further postpone the examination. The next one is scheduled in April 2010.
The original schedule for the exam was on September 27 but it was deferred by the PRC, on orders of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, due to the onslaught of Storm Ondoy, which brought heavy downpours that swamped most of Metro Manila and surrounding provinces.
As was previously announced by the PRC, the same building, seat number and schools assigned to examinees will apply.
Those who fail to take the test on Sunday may take the examination in April 2010. They will not need to pay the fee but will have to submit an application for the teachers? exam and attach the notice of admission to this year?s test.
Examinees must bring and present their September 27 admission slip and a valid identification card to the testing centers where they have been assigned.
