MANILA, Philippines—There is no need for the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct an investigation into how the information about President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s reported breast implant surgery was leaked to the media, said ousted President Joseph Estrada Thursday night.
"Why would the NBI use its resources looking for doctors who talked about the medical attention to you-know-who, when there are so many cases that need to be investigated,” Estrada said at the founding anniversary of the Manila Medical Society, where he was a guest speaker.
"Huwag nyo naman dibdibin ang kasong ito (Don’t take this too seriously)," he said in an apparent pun meant for the NBI. The Tagalog word “dibdib” literally means “chest.”
“Why are they (Malacañang) so secretive about it when the people have the right to know because it says in the Constitution? There were reports that a cyst was removed, that is a case of serious illness," Estrada said.
