MANILA, Philippines -- Higher Education Chairman Romulo Neri has said that the Supreme Court decision on his case against the Senate was a triumph for the rule of law.
"The Supreme Court really upheld the rule of law and respect for human rights,” Neri told reporters at the University of the Philippines administration building where the UP Board of Regents met Thursday.
Some 20 professors and non-academic personnel met Neri, shouting slogans for him to resign and tell all on President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's involvement in the alleged scandal-ridden $329-million national broadband network (NBN) project with China’s ZTE Corp.
Also at the meeting of the UP-BOR were Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and Las Piñas Representative Cynthia Villar who urged Neri to tell all in his testimony before the Senate.
