MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Cagayan Valley may experience floods on Friday and early Saturday, the state weather bureau said.

In an advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the following areas below may have light to moderate rains or thunderstorms which may cause floods:

  • Isabela – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Dikatayan, Divilacan and Palanan-Pinacanauan
  • Cagayan – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Linao, Lower Abulug, Lower Pamplona, Cabicungan, Aunugay, Baua, Palawig and Taboan.

“People living near the mountain slopes and in the low lying areas of the above mentioned river systems and the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils concerned advised to take necessary precautionary measures,” Pagasa said.

Earlier, Pagasa forecast that areas in Batanes and Cagayan may experience rains due to a frontal system.
