MANILA, Philippines ? July 2 is a special non-working holiday for Pasig residents as the city celebrates its 436th foundation day, officials announced Wednesday.
Mayor Robert ?Bobby? Eusebio said the date has been declared a special city-wide holiday under Presidential Proclamation No. 1805 to give way to the 436th Araw ng Pasig (Pasig Day).
The festivities will kick off with a Grand Parade, the culmination of a month-long series of activities highlighting Pasig City?s ?rich historical and cultural heritage and the talents and skills of Pasigueños,? officials said
?July 2 is a special day for Pasigueños. I am inviting everyone to join in the celebration and see why Pasig City is the place to be,? Eusebio said in a statement.
Meanwhile, officials also announced that the midyear bonus of Pasig City Hall employees will be released this month. The announcement was made during last Monday?s Flag Ceremony.
?Our employees? dedication to their jobs has made Pasig City the place to be. Pasig City is progressive, clean and safe city thanks to the combined efforts of our employees who are committed to the ideals of public service,? he said.
