MANILA, Philippines -- Police have arrested two men suspected of robbing a call center agent aboard a jeepney in Quezon City.
Police identified the two suspects as Alfie Suico, 18, and Joefre Lluz, 20, both residents of Tatalon in Quezon City.
The two suspects were identified by their victim, Kecy Fernandez, 22, a call center agent and a resident of Salvacion village, Quezon City, on Tuesday night.
Fernandez told police that the suspects took from her a backpack containing two cellular phones, one worth P15,000 and the other P7,000, and several identification cards.
These items, however, were not recovered from the suspects.
A manhunt has been launched against three other men whom Fernandez said were with the suspects, police said.
The alleged robbery took place at around 11 p.m. in front of the Sr. Pedro Lechon Manok along Quezon Ave near the corner of Victory St., Tatalon village.
The victim boarded the jeepney at the Welcome Rotonda on her way to work when five men got on the vehicle posing as passengers.
While aboard the jeepney, the five men declared a hold-up and seized her backpack at knife point.
The suspects then got off and fled on foot in front of the Sr. Pedro Lechon Manok shop.
Fernandez later alighted from the jeepney and chanced upon a passing police patrol car.
The victim sought police assistance from the roving cops who managed to arrest Suico and Lluz.
