The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday warned those going to cemeteries against possible health threats such as fatigue and stress, which could lead to high blood pressure and a heart attack.

“There might be some people who, because of the hot weather, may experience fatigue, difficulty in breathing or heart attack due to long walks,” DOH spokesperson Lyndon Lee Suy said.

He urged the public to bring adequate drinking water supply to stay hydrated.

Lee Suy also advised cemetery goers to apply sunscreen and bring umbrellas for protection against the sun or rain.

All government hospitals will be on alert until Friday, Nov. 3, for the observance of “Undas.”
