4 arrested in anti-illegal drug raids in Manila
Police authorities arrested four individuals in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Manila on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, yielding small amounts of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
According to a spot report released by the Manila Police District, elements of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by SInsp. Geo Colbao arrested Markgil Aquino, 24, and Arnel Palles, 34, after conducting a buy-bust operation in front of a fastfood chain on Tayuman Street, Sta. Cruz at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
The police recovered three pieces of heat-sealed transparent sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be methampetamine hydrochloride (shabu) and two pieces of P100-bills as marked money.
In a separate operation in Sampaloc, members of the Lacson Police Community Precinct arrested Daniel Gunio, 38, and Rommel Igpit, 30, while having a pot session at a shanty located along the railroad on Pañoc Street.
The policemen responded to a tip from a concerned citizen.
The authorities confiscated a glass water pipe, a folded strip of aluminum foil with residue of suspected shabu, and a disposable lighter.
The suspects are facing charges in violation of the Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. /idl
