Grace Bostolits, Airen share lead

GRACE Bostolits and Airen trounced separate foes to share the lead with identical 2-1 win-loss cards in the ongoing Saturday Club 2011 Christmas basketball tournament hosted by Quiot Basketball Association at the barangay Quiot open court.

Bostolits beat St. Vincent, 95-87 while Airen dumped WR Rama, 80-75.

It was a close match for Grace Bostolits and St. Vincent in the opening quarter but the former unloaded a crushing, 32-12 bomb in the second to post a commanding 19-point lead, 55-36, at the half then repeatedly repulsed St. Vincent’s late-game rallies to seal the 8-point victory.

Toly Petiluna scattered a game-high 20 points spiked by six triples for Grace Bostolits while Barok Lasque and Jeff Francisco combined for 34 markers. Jun Sevellejo and Jorex Resureccion paced St. Vincent (1-2) with 19 points apiece.
