Search on for 12 passengers of missing boat bound for Cavite

LIMAY, Bataan—Search teams have been deployed for a missing motorized boat carrying 12 passengers, which left Mariveles town in Bataan province for Naic town in Cavite province on March 19.

The group joined the Sunday fiesta that was staged by the coastal sub-village of Dinginen in Barangay (village) Alas-asin in Mariveles.

They sailed back to Cavite at 2 p.m. on Monday (March 20), but their relatives reported that they never arrived, said Lt. Cmdr. Carlos Victor Carlos of the Lamao Coast Guard station.

Currently missing are: Thea del Rosario, 10; Ashley Digico, 13; Michael Baybay, Jr., 13; Christian Silva, 14; Angelito Silva, 50; Michael Baybay Sr., 39; Edwin Platetas, 45; Levy Platetas, 70; Ramon del Rosario Sr., 60; Ramon del Rosario Jr., 35; and two unidentified men.
A fisherman in the area said he saw a vessel suffering from engine trouble as it approached Corregidor Island, according to Cesar Platetas, brother of Levy./rga
